TD Aeroplan Visa Infinite Card
CREDIT CARD REVIEW
🎁 Up to 40,000 Aeroplan points + first-year fee rebate
MoneyMint Rating: 3.2/5 — based on our published rating criteria (rewards value, fees, flexibility, and eligibility transparency). Not sponsored by TD.
The TD Aeroplan Visa Infinite Card is a $139/year travel card built around Air Canada perks — a free checked bag, Aeroplan Elite Status credits, and 1.5x points on gas, groceries, and direct Air Canada purchases. Its welcome offer (up to 40,000 points plus a first-year fee rebate) comfortably clears the annual fee, and the insurance suite is solid for the price. It’s a strong fit if you actually fly Air Canada and meet the income requirement — less so if you don’t, since Aeroplan points aren’t transferable to other loyalty programs.
Key Drawbacks to Know Before Applying
TD’s own pages disagree on this card’s cash advance APR (21.99% on one page, 22.99% on another) — confirm your actual rate before carrying any balance. The 1.5x bonus categories are also capped at $80,000 in combined annual spend, and TD doesn’t clearly state what rate applies above that cap, so budget for the base 1 point/$1 rate on anything you’re not sure about. And because Aeroplan points are a single-program currency tied to Air Canada’s own dynamic pricing, this card carries more redemption risk than a card with flexible, transferable points.
