Best Business Travel Credit Cards in Canada
Travel cards for Canadian businesses, ranked on what the points are actually worth when redeemed well, the strength of the insurance package, and what the card costs to hold once the first-year rebate ends.
Short answer: The TD Aeroplan Visa Business Card leads (4.9/5) on the combination of Aeroplan earning, a complete insurance package and an unusually low 14.99% purchase APR. If you want points that transfer to more than one airline, the RBC Avion Visa Infinite Business is the better choice; if your team flies Air Canada constantly and the fee is not an obstacle, the Amex Aeroplan Business Reserve earns the most per dollar with Air Canada. Figures checked September 17, 2026 against issuer pages.
First, check whether you need a business card at all
Most Canadian issuers let a sole proprietor or side-business owner apply with their own name and Social Insurance Number rather than a registered business number, so being unincorporated is rarely the barrier people expect it to be. That also means a personal card stays on the table. Personal cards often earn at a higher rate on everyday categories such as groceries and gas, and the annual fee frequently buys more travel insurance. What a business card adds is separation of business and household spending at tax time, employee cards with individual limits, and a credit limit set against business revenue rather than personal income. Whether business spending stays off your personal credit file depends on the issuer, so confirm it rather than assuming. It is worth comparing the personal card you would otherwise carry before you decide.

Common Questions
Which Business Travel Card Has the Most Valuable Points?
By our valuations, Aeroplan points are the most valuable mainstream Canadian currency at about 2.0 cents each, which is why the two Aeroplan business cards rank highly. TD Rewards points redeem at about 0.5 cents, so a headline offer of 200,000 TD Rewards points is worth roughly a quarter of what the same number of Aeroplan points would be.
Do Business Travel Cards Include Travel Insurance?
The paid ones usually do, but coverage varies a great deal. Look specifically at the travel medical limit and duration — several cards cover only the first 15 days of a trip, dropping sharply from age 65 — and at whether trip cancellation, rental car collision and baggage coverage are included.
Which Business Card Has No Foreign Transaction Fee?
The Scotiabank Passport Visa Infinite Business Card is the mainstream Canadian business card that advertises no foreign transaction fee. Most others charge roughly 2.5%, though several issuers do not publish the figure on the product page at all — we only state a fee where the issuer confirms it.
Are Welcome Bonuses on Business Cards Harder to Earn?
Generally yes. Business card offers are often tiered across a year and require far higher spending than personal cards — $15,000 to $25,000 is common. If your business cannot reach the thresholds, much of the advertised bonus will go unearned, so compare the first tier rather than the headline number.
