Free Canadian Money Tools and Calculators

Six free tools that answer the questions a comparison table cannot: what a card is worth to you, what a waived fee quietly costs, and which broker is cheapest for the way you actually invest. No sign-up, no email, no paywall.

Minimum Balance Calculator

Is a waived monthly fee really free?

Most chequing accounts waive the monthly fee if you park a few thousand dollars in them, where it earns nothing. This works out what that waiver quietly costs you, and whether paying the fee outright leaves you better off.

How These Stay Accurate

Every figure in these tools is taken from the provider’s own page: the fee schedule, the rate page or the published offer terms. Nothing is copied from another comparison site, and nothing is assumed to still be true because it was true last month.

The two weekly trackers are rebuilt each week against the source pages. The calculators are rebuilt whenever a fee, rate or valuation underneath them moves, and each page carries the date its figures were last checked.

MoneyMint earns a commission when a reader goes on to apply for some of the products these tools surface. That is disclosed on the pages where it applies, and it has no bearing on how results are ranked. These tools are general information, not personal financial advice; for a decision that turns on your own circumstances, speak to a qualified professional.

Common Questions

Are These Tools Free?

Yes. Every tool on this page is free and none of them asks you to create an account or hand over an email address to see your result.

Where Do the Numbers Come From?

From each provider’s own published pages: fee schedules, rate pages and offer terms. Every figure carries the date it was checked, and the weekly trackers are re-checked against the source each time they are rebuilt.

Do the Results Change Because MoneyMint Earns a Commission?

No. Rankings and results are produced from the data and from your inputs. Where MoneyMint earns a commission if you go on to apply, that is disclosed on the page, and it plays no part in the ordering.

How Current Is the Data?

The two weekly trackers are rebuilt every week. The calculators are rebuilt whenever an underlying fee, rate or valuation changes. Each page states the date its figures were last checked.
