TD Growth Savings Account
Our take: A tiered savings account where the advertised “up to 1.50%” only applies to balances of $500,000 or more, and only if you also hold an eligible TD chequing account and meet monthly transaction requirements — without both, the standard posted rate tops out at just 0.65%.

- Our review
TD Growth Savings Account pays no monthly fee and offers a tiered rate structure that rewards larger balances — but the headline 1.50% “Boosted Rate” comes with real conditions: you need an eligible TD chequing account, at least two of three qualifying monthly transactions on it, and a balance of $500,000 or more to actually reach that top rate. Without meeting the Boosted Rate conditions, you fall back to TD’s Standard Posted Rate, which is meaningfully lower at every tier.

No score yet · How we rate
TD advertises a welcome bonus of up to $5,000 without publishing the deposit tiers behind it, so the bonus cannot be scored at a realistic balance. We would rather show you nothing than show you a guess, so this account carries no rating until the figure is published.
This is not a verdict on the account — it reflects what the bank publishes, not how good the account is.

Frequently Asked Questions
What interest rate does the TD Growth Savings Account pay?
It depends on your balance and whether you qualify for the Boosted Rate. As of September 25, 2026, the top Boosted Rate is 1.50% on balances of $500,000 or more (with an eligible TD chequing account and qualifying transactions); without that eligibility, the top Standard Posted Rate is 0.65% at the same balance tier. Lower balance tiers earn less under both rate tracks.
How do I qualify for the Boosted Rate?
You need to hold an eligible TD Chequing Account — the TD Unlimited Chequing Account, TD All-Inclusive Banking Plan, or TD Wealth Private Banking Chequing Account — and complete at least 2 of 3 qualifying transactions on it each month (direct deposit, pre-authorized debit, or online bill payment).
Are there any fees on the TD Growth Savings Account?
No monthly fee. Transfers to your other TD deposit accounts are unlimited and free; other types of withdrawals cost $5.00 each.
How is interest calculated on the TD Growth Savings Account?
Interest is calculated on your entire Daily Closing Balance at the rate for the tier that balance falls into, and paid out on the last business day of the month. Interest is not compounded daily or added to your balance until it’s actually paid.
Is my money protected in a TD Growth Savings Account?
TD states deposits may be insurable by the Canada Deposit Insurance Corporation (CDIC), within CDIC limits.
