Last updated October 15, 2026. These terms take effect on the date the first Mint Rebate offer goes live and apply to every claim made from that date onward.

Mint Rebate Terms
These terms govern the Mint Rebate program, operated by MoneyMint (“we”, “us”), publisher of moneymint.ca. By entering your email and clicking “Claim & apply”, you agree to them. If you don’t agree, don’t claim — you can still use every link on this site normally.
1. What the Mint Rebate is
On some credit card and bank account reviews we offer a cash payment, the Mint Rebate, to readers who apply through our page and are approved by the issuer or bank. It is our own reward to you, funded out of the commission the issuer or its affiliate network pays us for the referral. It is separate from, and paid on top of, any welcome bonus the issuer gives you directly.
It is not an offer from the issuer. The issuer and its affiliate network are not parties to these terms, have no obligation to you under them, and do not endorse or administer this program. Nothing about the Mint Rebate changes the card’s or account’s own terms, pricing, rewards or eligibility rules.
Mint Rebate offers are only available on products where the issuer and its affiliate network permit incentivised referrals. If a program’s rules do not allow it, we will not run a Mint Rebate offer on that product.
2. Who can claim
- You must be a resident of Canada and at least 18 years old, or 19 where that is the age of majority in your province or territory.
- You must be eligible to apply for the card or account in your own name, and be approved as a new cardholder or account holder.
- You must claim for yourself. Claims made on someone else’s behalf, or for a card you are added to as an authorised user, do not qualify.
- One Mint Rebate payment per person per product, regardless of how many email addresses you use. You are welcome to claim on more than one different product.
3. How to claim
- Enter your email in the Mint Rebate box on the product’s review page, accept these terms, and click “Claim & apply”. We’ll show you a claim code (for example MM-7K2Q9F). Save it — you’ll need it if you contact us about your claim.
- Complete the issuer’s application in that same browser session, on the same device, immediately after you’re sent through from our page.
- Don’t use a VPN, an ad blocker, a cookie blocker, or private/incognito browsing during the application. Don’t open the issuer’s site in a separate tab, return later through a search result, or apply through a comparison site, a branch, or the phone.
- Claim codes are valid for 30 days. If you don’t complete your application in that window, claim again to get a fresh code.
This matters more than it sounds. Our ability to pay depends entirely on the affiliate network recording your click and matching it to your approval. If that record doesn’t exist, we have no way to confirm your application came from MoneyMint, and we cannot pay the Mint Rebate — even if you genuinely applied from our page.
4. When a claim doesn’t qualify
- The application is declined, withdrawn, or cancelled before the issuer confirms it.
- You are an existing cardholder or account holder of that product, or held it recently enough that the issuer treats you as a returning customer.
- The affiliate network does not record or does not confirm the referral, for any reason.
- The issuer or network later reverses the referral — for example because the account is closed early, or is found to breach their terms.
- The claim duplicates one you have already made on the same product.
5. How and when we pay
- We pay by Interac e-Transfer to the email address you used when you claimed. Keep that address working — we can’t redirect a payment to a different one.
- We send your Mint Rebate within 30 days after the issuer’s affiliate network confirms your approval to us. That confirmation usually reaches us within a few business days of the issuer approving you.
- We’ll email you when your claim is confirmed, and again when the payment is sent.
- If an e-Transfer is not accepted within 30 days we’ll resend it once. If it’s still not accepted 90 days after the first attempt, the claim expires.
- If we’ve already paid you and the issuer later reverses the referral, we won’t ask for the money back — unless the claim was fraudulent.
6. Limits and changes
- The amount shown on the review page at the moment you claim is the amount that applies to your claim, even if we change it afterwards.
- We can change, pause or withdraw any Mint Rebate offer at any time. Claims already made before a change are honoured under the terms above.
- We may cap the total number of claims on a product or across the program. If we do, we’ll say so on the review page before you claim.
7. Fraud and abuse
We may decline or cancel a claim that appears fraudulent, duplicated, self-referred, automated, or in breach of the issuer’s or network’s rules. We decide this reasonably and will tell you why. If you think we’ve got it wrong, email us and we’ll take another look.
8. Tax
We don’t issue tax slips for the Mint Rebate, so don’t expect one. How the payment should be treated on your own return is your responsibility — we’re not tax advisers and can’t advise you on your situation. If you’re unsure, ask someone who can.
9. Your information
When you claim we store your email address, your claim code, which product you claimed on, and the date. We use them only to confirm and pay your Mint Rebate and to contact you about that claim. We don’t sell them and we don’t share them with anyone except as needed to send your e-Transfer. We keep claim records for seven years for accounting purposes, then delete them. You can ask us to delete an unpaid claim at any time — that cancels it. See our Privacy Policy for the full picture.
10. This isn’t financial advice
Applying for a credit card has real consequences: a hard credit check, an annual fee in many cases, and interest if you carry a balance. Bank accounts can come with monthly fees and minimum-balance rules. A Mint Rebate offer should never be the reason you apply for a card or account that isn’t right for you. Read the full review and the issuer’s own terms first, and talk to a qualified adviser if you need advice about your own situation.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The version in effect for your claim is the one published on this page at the time you claimed, and we keep the date at the top current so you can tell.
12. General
These terms are governed by the laws of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. If any part of them turns out to be unenforceable, the rest still stands. You can’t transfer a claim to someone else. These terms, together with what’s shown on the review page when you claim, are the whole agreement between us about the Mint Rebate.
